Welcome to the PCAG training page. This page is intended as a resource for practical homework after each session of PCAGs training courses. However, anyone wanting to use PCAG resources could use them in conjunction with other material available on this site to learn about electronic audit.
The current course consists of three 3-hour sessions.
a) Templates & Guidelines & the like structure, nature, downloading , editing AND using!
b) Disease registers theory, creation and maintenance and practice procedures.
Download & edit our Space template to your EMIS play system Space.zip or Space.exe
1) On starting your EMIS system type PLAY at the UCI prompt and follow the instructions in the downloaded file to activate it in your system. (You could tuck it away in the hierarchy of your WORK system if you like)
2) As excessive payload could be a contributory factor to launch pad accidents youd better add the patients weight to the template as a prompt! If youve got some PCAG templates already on your system try adding the subtemplate Body Mass Index 22K instead.
If youve not got PCAG templates on your system and are now feeling brave you could try installing one from this site.
If you have, try downloading and running the relevant housekeeping set from this site.
a) Feedback problems and questions from Session 1 and homework
b) Electronic Audits theory, limitations, downloading, running and returning results to PCAG
c) Interpreting Results, action planning, implementation and monitoring
Download and run an audit set from this site, preferably the one that relates to the housekeeping you tried after the first session.
Zip it up and email it to PCAG. If we get back to you quick enough, knock together an action plan (or use this Dummy.xls data) by asking the following questions:-
What are the priorities for this practice and why? (Remember: Register Process Outcome)
What changes are necessary to improve the audit data for this practice?
What process of change will you follow?
When will another interim audit be needed to assess progress?
a) Feedback problems and questions from Session 2 and homework
b) Patient Recall theory, downloading, using recall spreadsheet and mailmerge
c) Practice organisation barriers to e-audit, where to next?
Download the recall demonstration (recalldemo.zip / recalldemo.exe) and extract it to a blank floppy. Open the spreadsheet and play
