Do these Miquest queries break patient confidentiality?
Q: Someone I spoke to was concerned that using your queries might violate patient confidentiality. Is that so?
Answer: The audit set does not retrieve any patient identifiable data. The data is exported as age-sex breakdowns.
The Housekeeping set only pulls patient numbers and names for ease of identification. This is a local set and the results must never be sent to PCAG. "
If you use the Pack-To-Send software to return audit responses, the software checks that you are not packing up local queries that may contain sensitive data and warns you."
The Recall set does retrieve patient sensitive data - it's kind of difficult to recall a patient without knowing their address! This is why we make it very clear that results of this set MUST NEVER be sent to PCAG and should be handled like any patient data in the practice. We just supply the software for analysing the data at the practice. This is no different in principle to practices doing mail merges and searches from the clinical system direct.
