PCAG are pleased to announce the release of a suite of templates for EMIS LV to support register creation and data recording for the New Contract (click here to view the template downloads available), in addition to our existing Diabetes and CHD templates which have also been updated (click here to see changes).
These templates have been checked against the coding in the GMS Contract Supporting Documentation and the proposed codes for the Q&O Framework Query specification for new GP contract indicators January 04. This should enable practices to continue preparation for the Q&O framework.
In addition we have released a housekeeping query set (click here to download queries) designed to cover the areas not already covered by the CHD/Diabetes housekeeping sets. These flag up patients for the relevant register for checking and adding to the register using the templates. Practices should be able to make rapid progress in register construction using this tool.
Furthermore, we have released a template designed to support the Exception Reporting allowed under the Q&O Framework electronically. National codes have been released, but are likely to continue to be upgraded. We anticipate that exception reporting will be essential for practices to be able to achieve higher percentages. Electronic reporting will be essential if we are to avoid significant bureaucracy. Developing the habit of exception reporting now will save much time in future and having suitably coded data now will make reporting easier in future when a national system has been agreed.
